The shepherds hurried away to Bethlehem and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in the manger. When they saw the child they repeated what they had been told about him, and everyone who heard it was astonished at what the shepherds had to say. As for Mary, she treasured all these things and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds went back glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen; it was exactly as they had been told.
When the eighth day came and the child was to be circumcised, they gave him the name Jesus, the name the angel had given him before his conception.
Celebrating the Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God, we may notice, the liturgy shows the Beauty of the Motherhood.
Blessed Mary the Mother of God takes part in the God’s plan, giving Jesus. Her “yes” gave the Son of God; the man has answered for the Lords call. The Holy Family was sanctified by God, taking part in his work of Salvation.
The truth and the dignity of the Motherhood and parenthood have great meaning in the sigh of God, while we are experiencing the crisis of being a mother or a father.
Every woman being called as a mother, she has special place in God’s heart. The Lord is the Creator, the Giver of life, and the motherhood is the key thing and fulfilment of his will to give a new life. Of course, the father gives the begging of a new life, but the mother carries by 9 months of own child.
This Solemnity brings hope, that the natural order of the humanity is not an old-fashioned stile, which is “no fitting” to the modern world, but this is the eternal plan of God, which makes women distinguish persons, who should be treated with great dignity and respect. God became man, making great dignity of Mary as the Mother.
Thanks be to God for every mother, for our mothers, who carried of us day and night, bestowing us with love and safety.
Let us pray for those women, who lost their children, because of different reasons, for example by the miscarriage, having had a great pain in heart.
Let us pray for the expected mothers, especially for those who are in fear of their children in the situation of danger. And may our prayer embrace those women, crying for their sons and daughters, asking for the life change, as St. Monica did, praying for the conversion of Augustin.

Pasterze pospiesznie udali się do Betlejem i znaleźli Maryję, Józefa i Niemowlę, leżące w żłobie. Gdy Je ujrzeli, opowiedzieli o tym, co im zostało objawione o tym Dziecięciu. A wszyscy, którzy to słyszeli, dziwili się temu, co im pasterze opowiadali. Lecz Maryja zachowywała wszystkie te sprawy i rozważała je w swoim sercu. A pasterze wrócili, wielbiąc i wysławiając Boga za wszystko, co słyszeli i widzieli, jak im to było powiedziane. Gdy nadszedł dzień ósmy i należało obrzezać Dziecię, nadano Mu imię Jezus, którym Je nazwał anioł, zanim się poczęło w łonie Matki.
Obchodząc Uroczystość Świętej Maryi, Matki Boga, zauważamy, że liturgia ukazuje piękno macierzyństwa. Błogosławiona Maryja, Matka Boga, bierze udział w Bożym planie, dając światu Jezusa. Jej „tak” sprawiło, że Syn Boży przyszedł na świat; człowiek odpowiedział na Boże wezwanie. Święta Rodzina została uświęcona przez Boga, uczestnicząc w Jego dziele zbawienia.
Prawda i godność macierzyństwa oraz ojcostwa mają ogromne znaczenie w oczach Boga, zwłaszcza gdy doświadczamy kryzysu bycia matką lub ojcem. Każda kobieta powołana do bycia matką ma szczególne miejsce w sercu Boga. Pan jest Stwórcą, Dawcą życia, a macierzyństwo jest kluczowym elementem i spełnieniem Jego woli, by dawać nowe życie. Oczywiście ojciec daje początek nowemu życiu, ale to matka przez dziewięć miesięcy nosi własne dziecko pod sercem.
Ta uroczystość niesie nadzieję, że naturalny porządek człowieczeństwa nie jest przestarzałym stylem, „niepasującym” do współczesnego świata, lecz jest wiecznym planem Boga, który czyni kobiety wyjątkowymi osobami, zasługującymi na wielką godność i szacunek. Bóg stał się człowiekiem, wynosząc Maryję do wielkiej godności Matki.
Dzięki Bogu za każdą matkę, za nasze matki, które troszczyły się o nas dniem i nocą, obdarzając nas miłością i bezpieczeństwem.
Módlmy się za te kobiety, które straciły swoje dzieci z różnych powodów, na przykład wskutek poronienia, nosząc wielki ból w sercu.
Módlmy się za oczekujące matki, zwłaszcza te, które boją się o swoje dzieci w sytuacjach zagrożenia. Niech nasza modlitwa obejmie również te kobiety, które płaczą za swymi synami i córkami, prosząc o przemianę ich życia, jak św. Monika, która modliła się o nawrócenie Augustyna.
Błogosławiony bądź Boże za każdą matkę i za macierzyństwo. Nasza Pani Europy i Matko Boga, módl się za nami. Amen. Błogosławionego i szczęśliwego Nowego Roku 2026.
